Laffghanistan: Comedy Down Range documents comedian Graham Elwood’s personal journey from the sunny beaches of Southern California to the sun-baked moonscape of Afghanistan, where the military’s Department of Morale, Welfare and Recreation has enlisted him to entertain the troops. Whether humping from gig to gig on Backhawk helicopters or driving at a breakneck speed on the landmine-laden one-way highway between Kandahar and Kabul, Elwood’s journey through a warzone is hilarious, harrowing and heartbreaking.
“As these are the men and women who created and continue to protect our way of life, the very least we could do was support a documentary that shows a side of their world that has not been covered often,” said Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO of The Nacelle Company.
Graham Elwood has been a stand-up comic for over 20 years and has performed across the world. He hosted Game Show Network’s Cram and USA’s Strip Poker and has appeared on CBS’s The Late Late Show. Graham directed the award-winning Ear Buds: The Podcasting Documentary, also distributed by Comedy Dynamics, and directed the award-winning short Hello Junkie. He is the co-creator of the Los Angeles Podcast Fesetival and a frequent guest of the Jimmy Dore Show and Aggressive Progressive on TYT.
