Comedy Dynamics has announced they have acquired the rights to distribute the audio portion of Rudy Ray Moore: Rude, the iconic Dolemite star’s live concert film, and will release it through Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora and more on November 29, 2019.
Rudy Ray Moore: Rude is packed with raunchy humor and rhythmic stories about life through the eyes of Rudy’s iconic persona, Dolemite. Whether he’s delivering powerful one-liners or engaging in crowd work with his rowdy audience, Rudy Ray Moore: Rude gives listeners an insight into the folk hero we all know as Dolemite.
Rudy Ray Moore is a cultural pioneer responsible for shaking up the entertainment industry in the mid-1970s with his Blaxploitation film, Dolemite, based on a kung-fu fighting pimp. Rudy’s legacy is shining as bright as ever today, with the release of Netflix’s film, Dolemite Is My Name, which stars Eddie Murphy, Wesley Snipes, Keegan-Michael Key, Craig Robinson and more.
“Rudy was far more than just an entertainer, he helped blow up a genre that had previously been overlooked, and this album does a fantastic job at showcasing that. His career trajectory, resilience and dedication to his craft is an inspiring story that anyone can take inspiration from,”
said Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO of Comedy Dynamics.
The deal was negotiated by Michael Epstein of Comedy Dynamics and Steve Housden from Moore’s long-time distributor, Xenon Pictures.
