Comedy Dynamics announced today it will rerelease George Carlin: Jammin’ In New York exclusively as part of Record Store Day on April 22, 2017. Rhino Entertainment Company, a Warner Music Company, is manufacturing the album.
Carlin’s 1992 special Jammin’ In New York was recorded at Madison Square Garden. It is his 14th album and eight HBO special. In it, he covers topics ranging from the Persian Gulf War, the strange use of language at airports and much more. The album won a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best Spoken Comedy Album. This is the first time it will be released on vinyl.
George Carlin is one of the most influential comedians in history, focusing on American culture, politics, religion and more in his unique style of black comedy. George filmed 14 stand-up specials for HBO, in addition to his numerous roles in film and television. He appears on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 50 Best Stand-Up Comics of All Time, as well as Comedy Central’s Top 10 Comedians. After his passing in 2008, he was posthumously awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
